p.3 The Pierrepont - The str. Pierrepont left the dock yesterday morning with a load of freight for Picton. She managed to get up with considerable difficulty. Between the Stone Mills and Picton she had to break through about six inches of ice. After discharging her load, she took on board a large number of sheep, and left for Cape Vincent, reaching there about 8 o'clock last night.

The Cold Snap - The lake has not yet closed up, although in some places there is a considerable quantity of ice.
