p.3 The Canal - A telegram says that the Welland Canal will be opened about the 14th of April.

Personal - Captain Alex. Cuthbert, of Cobourg, arrived in town yesterday, and is staying at the Anglo-American. We presume he saw "Kingston Yachtsmen's" letter in the News of last evening, and we have no doubt he will get up a race.

Purchased - We understand that the barges Eagle and Star, belonging to the estate of Holcomb & Stewart, were today purchased by Mr. W. McRossie for $10,500.
