p.3 The steamer Peerless will be employed as a tug on the Rideau Canal this season. She is now receiving a thorough overhauling.

Marine Notes

There is very little to report at present in marine matters, no arrivals being reported as yet from the canal.

The schr. Bismarck has arrived at Garden Island from Bay City, having completed her first round trip.

The name of the steamer Rochester has been changed to the Hastings, out of compliment, we presume, to the County of Hastings. She looks well since she has been rebuilt.

Port Colborne, April 20th - Up - schrs. Denmark, Kingston, Bear Creek, light; Picton, Cobourg, Cleveland, light; Pride of America, Kingston, Bay City, light; Albacore, Port Dalhousie, Toledo, light.

Down - tugs Admiral, D.D. Porter, bound for Quebec light.

In harbour - schrs Huron, Pride of America, Albacore, Cataract, Northman.
