p.3 Marine Notes
The question which vessel owners would like to have answered is how long are they going to keep the grain piled up at the West and what do they expect to make by holding it back from the markets. The total stock in store at Chicago now is 5,805,000 bushels, against 2,398,000 bushels at this time last year, at Milwaukee, 1,291,000 bushels as compared with 925,000 bushels in 1876, and at Toledo the show is 1,234,000 bushels at present to 858,000 bushels at this date last year.
