p.3 City Council - Extending A Pier - A letter was read from Mr. James Swift, asking permission to build a pier about ten feet wide from the present front of his wharf at the foot of Johnson street to prevent the slip from filling in. What he proposed doing would prevent further damage in this respect, and would not interfere with other rights. Referred to the Committee on Wharves and Harbours to report.

Ald. Gaskin explained that this improvement was absolutely necessary in order that the property along the line of railway should be saved.
