The Maritime History of the Great Lakes
Oswego Palladium (Oswego, NY), Mon., Aug. 4, 1856

Description
Full Text

There is an immense travel on the American steamers on Lake Ontario now days. The fashionable travel was never so great on these boats as at present. The warm weather and dusty renders railroad travel intolerable, while on the boats everything is delightfully pleasant. The down boats from the Falls arrive here every morning, on their way down the St. Lawrence, crowded with pleasure travelers.
