p.3 The Geneva - The Cape Vincent Eagle says: "Arrangements are in progress for a race between the steamers Geneva and Island Belle. The friends of the Geneva have placed $300 in the hands of a gentleman here for the purpose of making the match. The friends of the Belle seem to be willing to put up an equal amount, and as soon as the necessary details can be arranged, we expect to be able to announce the date on which the affair will take place."
