p.1 City Council - A Petition - Ald. Allen introduced a petition from W.R. Taylor and others, owners of vessels. They recognize the consideration shown to them by the Council, and proceed to show that last year their business was not successful. They state that elsewhere a reduction had been made on vessel property, and they ask a further reduction. Referred to the Court of Revision to report.

p.3 The Schooner Singapore - A short time ago the Detroit Free Press, in speaking of the schooner Singapore, said she was the best model of a vessel ever seen in Detroit harbour. This is quite a compliment to Mr. W. Power, the Kingston builder. We understand that a challenge will be issued next season for the Singapore to sail against any vessel on the lake. She is said to be a very fast sailor.
