p.3 A Contrast - On the 9th of March last year the steamer Pierrepont made her first trip to the Cape with a load of cattle. A survey of the situation at present will convince anyone that a similar event will be impossible this year, the ice being from eighteen inches to two feet and a half thick. On the 7th of April, 1877, the same steamer made her first trip to the Cape.
