p.2 The new Steamboat built at Lachine by Messrs. Shea & Merritt, for the Ottawa Steamboat Company, was launched on Wednesday last. She entered the element she was destined to navigate with great ease, and the novelty of a vessel entering sideways into the water seemed to please those who had assembled on the occasion. She is in every respect a fine boat, and does not in the least derogate from the previously well earned reputation of her builders.
