Charles Lonsby and Louis Wolf have purchased the steambarge THOMAS D. STIMSON for $28,000. The boat was formerly the VIRGINIUS, a tow barge and was rebuilt by W.J. Bailey about ten years ago.

      U. S. Engineer Maj. Bixby of the Detroit district has been notified by the owner of the propeller STIMSON, which was burned three weeks ago, that they have abandoned the vessel and as soon as the underwriters are heard from the wreck will be blown up. Though the owners of the sunken barge CHAMPION have not abandoned her, after 30 days she will be dynamited by the government. Both vessels are in dangerous places.
