      Propeller INDIAN. [C] 366 tons. Built 1853 at Buffalo by G.S. Weeks. Owned by Jacques, Tracy & Co. Home port, Montreal. Value $15,000 Class A 2. REMARKS. -- Formerly [a] CINCINNATI, [b] CITY OF HAMILTON, [c] ALPS; repaired in 1861 & 1863.

      The propeller CINCINNATI was sold yesterday by the underwriters, to Mr. W. Brown of Hamilton for $22,000. She was stranded in Lake Huron last December. She was built in 1853 for the Oswego, Sandusky & Cincinnati Line, on which she was employed until the time of her disaster.

Steam screw ALPS. Built Buffalo in 1853, renamed INDIAN in 1860. Canadian Official No. 33495. Of 452 gross tons. 141 x 26 x 11. Classed as a steam barge. Rebuilt in 1882 as 137 x 25 x 11 and 320 gross tons. Formerly U.S. CITY OF HAMILTON until 1858 when she took Canadian registry. DISPOSITION. -- Burnt at Kingston, Oct. 26, 1885
