Millpoint, Aug. 27 - LAUNCH - At three o'clock this afternoon, the barge TOBIAS BUTLER, being the largest vessel ever built on the Bay of Quinte, was most successfully launched from the shipyard of Messrs. H.B. Rathbun & Son, of this place, in the presence of a large crowd of people. The TOBIAS BUTLER was built by the experienced ship-builder William Jamieson. Her timbers and sidings are of the finest white oak, got out expressly for this vessel. She is A No. 1, 150 ft. keel, 30 ft. beam and 11 ft. hold. She is about 500 ton burden, and will carry over half a million feet of lumber. She will trade between the Bay of Quinte ports and Oswego. Her value is about $20,000.
