Sailing barge PURITAN, rebuilt in 1887 from the hull of the steamer PURITAN, of 1882, which was renamed from Steamer LOUISE of Montreal which was built in 1872. The Barge PURITAN sunk between Deseronto Steamboat Wharf and Forresters Island Park, October 21, 1898, and was dynamited from the channel in August 1900.
