Brig SHAKESPEARE.* Built Cleveland, O., 1848
      * Renamed EMPIRE STATE - U. S. - 1858
      Herman Runge List

The brig SHAKESPEARE, which went ashore with a cargo of lumber at Pilot Island, has since gone to pieces. The brig PILGRIM has gone to take off her cargo and strip her. The SHAKESPEARE, we believe, is 7 or 8 years old, and was worth probably $7,000. She was owned by Eldreds, of this city. --- Milwaukee News.
