Apparently the Fairmile ended up being owned by a person at Parry Sound, who did not have the means to put it back in reasonable order, so he abandoned it in a bay on Rose Island [about 1977] obviously it annoyed the local cottagers who vandalized the boat and later set it on fire, it now lies sunk, in shallow water in the above area.

      DISPOSAL AFTER THE WAR
The Canadian government kept very few Fairmiles once the war was over. Commander McKee told me they were selling them at a fixed price of $3,500 post-war, which annoyed a lot of people. A couple of letters from incensed citizens expressed dismay over this price. Some of the Fairmiles were only a year old when the war ended!
