A new bark named the F. MORRELL, built at Marine City during the past winter, for Loff & Gilchrist, is nearly ready for sea. She was launched in December last, and is of the following dimensions: 145 ft. long, on deck, 30 1/2 ft. beam, 12 ft. depth of hold, measuring about 567 tons, (old measurement). Frames, ceiling, deck frames, and planking is all heavy and the best timber, the frames are sided 11 inches and moulded 12, distance between centers 21 inches. She will carry about 25,000 bushels of wheat.
