NEW LIGHTSHIP. - The keel was laid Thursday at Amherstburg of a new lightship, to take the place of the vessel serving in that capacity at Colchester Reef, Lake Erie. She will be of the following dimensions: Length 60 feet; beam 17 feet; depth 5 feet amidships. Her keel will be 16 inches square, planking 4 inches, and the choicest material is to be used in her construction. She is to be owned by Hacket Brothers, and will be ready for service in about six weeks.
