Manager J. McAlpine of the Lake Erie Excursion Co., which operated the stms. CANADAIAN and AMERICANA on the Buffalo-Crystal Beach run announced yesterday that the AMERICANA will begin her season on May 29 and on Memorial day both boats will be in commission.
      Capt. John McLeod has been appointed master of the AMERICANA with John Gooldorf chief engineer, and on the Canadaina will be Capt. Alfred Johnson and Chief engineer Frank H. Caddock.
      The ships are being repainted and renovated throuhgout for the season, and they will both be like new steamers by May 29, Mr. McAlpine said.
