A new tug for Hand & Johnson's line will be launched late this afternoon from the Union Drydock. The new boat is named the W.I. BABCOCK, in honor of the genial superintendent of the Union yards. The dimensions of the tug are; length 76 ft., beam 17 ft., hold 10 ft. with 20 x 22 engines. She will not be ready for business much before August 15, but the company was forced to launch her as soon as possible as they have contracts for 2 other tugs and needed the room.
