The Manitowoc Herald gives an account of the launch, at that place, of the new clipper built schr. STEPHEN BATES, owned by Van Valkenburgh & Co., and intended for the the lumber traffic. The dimensions of the BATES are as follows: Length of deck 97 ft.; breadth of beam 27 3.12 ft.; depth of hold 16.12 ft. Her registered tonnage is 15 50/95ths, and she is capable of carrying 135,000 ft. of lumber. Her captain is Robert L. Bell. - Milwaukee News. Detroit Free Press
