St. Catharines, Sept. 1 - LAUNCH - A very finely modelled schooner was launched from the shipyard of Mr. L. Shickluna on Saturday afternoon, at four o'clock. The christening ceremony was performed by a niece of the Hon. J.R. Benson. The dimensions are as follows:- 466 tons Carpenters measurement; 142 feet overall; 26 ft. 2 inch beam; 12 feet depth of hold; 375 tons register. Her Captain is Mr. Neil Murray. The keel of another schooner, a sister vessel of the J.R. BENSON, has already been laid by Mr. Shickluna.

Benson, the new vessel being named JAMES R. BENSON. The dimensions are: 466 tons carpenter's measurement, 142 ft. over all, 26 ft. 2 inches beam, 12 ft. hold, registered 375 tons. The captain is Mr. Neil Murray. The keel of another schooner, a sister vessel of the J.R. BENSON, has already been laid by Mr. Shickluna.
