. THE MILWAUKEE FLEET
The first vessel was launched at MIlwaukee in 1837, by Solomon Juneau, built by Capt. Barber. She was called the SOLOMON JUNEAU, of 90 tons; since which our commercial marine has been gradually on the increase, as will be seen from the folowing list:

All these vessels are engaged directly in the trade of this city. In addition to the business transacted by this formidable fleet, (for a wilderness city,) all large class steamboats touch here weekly, on their upward and downward trips. - Milwaukee Sentinel.

The CHAMPION is the name of a large new schooner added to the Milwaukee fleet this season. She will be down with 8,000 bushels of wheat and a host of other "traps" from that region.
