The new propellers, MILWAUKEE and CHICAGO, now building at Cleveland for the Western Transportation Company, are fast approaching completion. It is now expected that one will be out by the first of June, and the other about fifteen days later. Both are of the general build of the BUFFALO, and each will cost over $110,000. They are to be 221 feet long on the keel.

The Cleveland Herald has the following concerning the Western Transportatio Co's two new boats, building at that point: - The two great propellers at Quayle & Son's yards are fast approaching completion under the busy hands of the numerous ship carpenters employed there. The MILWAUKEE is about ready to go into the water, but she will be delayed until the last of next week or the first of the following week on account of the machinery. The time for the launch cannot be fixed, and will depend entirely upon the engineer who is putting the machinery together. The work can be done to a better advantage on the stocks than in the water. It will be remembered that the propeller is about five feet longer and one foot wider than the BUFFALO, which was the largest one built her last season. She will carry from 150 to 200 tons more freight. In other respects she is similar to the BUFFALO, only differing in some slight details of equipment. The CHICAGO is planked and her deck frames and arches in, and the Globe Works began putting in her machinery yesterday. No delay is anticipated, as her engines are all ready to be put together. As soon as the MILWAUKEE is out of the road the CHICAGO will be crowded to completion.
