Capt. Robert Parsons, vetran Buffalo shipmaster, announced yesterday that he expects to go to Chicago within the next 10 days or 2 weeks to bring back the passenger stm. CHICORA, which had been carrying excursionists between Milwaukee and the Windy
City during the 2 seasons of the big fair. He said he had not been informed as to what route the owners of the boat will place her on, but it is generally believed she will be used as an excursion craft on and adjascent to the Niagara River next season.
"It looks like an early opening of the season of navigation in all branches for 1935," said Capt. Parsons. "I make no pretentions of being a prophet or prognosticator on weather conditions, but present conditions point to an early start. The ice will not remain with us much longer and that means much, for I recall that the opening of Crystal Beach and other places has often been retarded by ice off Buffalo Harbor. In my opinion things in general are picking up and I look forward to a heavier water travel in the coming season."
