The CONSTELLATION, another new and beautiful floating palace from Charleston, J. H. McQueen, master, was welcomed at our wharves this morning. The CONSTELLATION is a fine specimen of modern freight and passenger lake boats; staunch, well built, and of the best materials - measuring 150 feet deck - 28 feet 6 inches beam - 12 feet 6 inches hold - 583 tons burthen - and will freight 4,000 bbls. bulk, with 500 deck passengers. her gentleman's cabin above, and ladies' department below deck, are pleasant, roomy, and well finished; furnishing elegant accommodations for 80 persons. She will run in the Merchant's line - is propelled by one of Allair's best New York low pressure engines, of 44 inch cylinder, and 10 feet stroke; and truly,
      "Walks the water like a thing of life."
      Capt. McQueen, ever courteous, attentive, and obliging, is well known as a skillful, experienced seaman; and we confidently predict, that the CONSTELLATION will be a particular favorite in the bright galaxy of stripes and stars, that now lights in the pathway of Commerce on our great western lakes.
      Much credit is due to the taste and enterprise of the master builder of the CONSTELLATION, Capt. A. Gilmore, of Charleston. The keel was laid at his ship-yard in October last - launched the first of April - and already
