NEW SCHOONER. - The schooner DEFIANCE, built by R. Calkins for the Lake Transportation Co., of Buffalo, is nearly ready for sea. She has 136:57 feet length, 26 feet beam, and 10:58 feet hold, and registers 350 26-95 tons, Custom House measurement. She will be commanded by Capt. John Eastwick. - Cleveland Plain Dealer.
