The stm. DUCHESS OF YORK, which runs from the foot of Main St. to Fort Erie Beach, was formerly located in Montreal. She was used for shooting the Racine rapids, and built especially for that sort of work. She draws only 4 ft. of water; she is 156 ft. in length, and 25 ft. beam. She is a strongly built craft, and has a speed of 11 or 12 miles per hour.
      The boat is commanded by Capt. Percy Shepard. The tug DONNELLY follows her to her dock every time she arrives in port and after she has taken on her passengers the tug winds her around and drops her when she has got straightened away. Capt. James B. Baker commands the DONNELLY.
