LAUNCH:- On the 26th. of June, the schooner ECLIPSE, built by Capt. Augustus Jones, for Messrs. Meeker and Kelley, was launched at Vermillion. It entered this port on the following day, in complete order for a voyage. ECLIPSE is 63 feet long, 18 feet 6 and a half inches beam, and 58 tons burthen, and is fitted and painted in a style highly creditable to the ingenuity of the builder and the enterprising owners. The cabin and state rooms are neat, airy and convenient. In short we are highly gratified with this specimen of improved naval architecture on Lake Erie; and from its construction and what little oppertunities we have had of seeing its performance on the bay, we think it not extravagant to anticipate, that while ECLIPSE of Long Island is victor on the land; ECLIPSE of Vermillion will hardly find a match on lake Erie. -- Sandusky Clarion
