NEW VESSELS. - The schooner EGYPTIAN, built at the shipyard of R. Calkins, was launched on Thursday. She was built for Messrs. Fitzhugh & Littlejohn, of Oswego, and will be sailed by Capt. B. Hawkins. Her burthen, by Custom House measurement, is 372 21-95 tons; her dimensions being, length 136:04 feet, beam 26:05 feet, and hold 11:24 feet. She is a very handsome and thoroughly built vessel.
The schooner J.L. NEWHOUSE, just launched by Peck & Masters, is almost ready for sea, and is attracting a good deal of admiration from admirers of excellent vessels. She was built for A.R. Williams, Esq., of Chicago, and is to be commanded by Capt. James Spencer. She is 135:41 feet in length, 26:04 foot beam, 11:49 feet hold, and is 381 75-95 tons burthen.
Messrs. L.F. & J. Burgess, merchants on River street, have built a first class fore-and-aft schooner, the SHOOK, this season, at Huron, at the yard of F.D. Ketchum. Her burthen is 361 27-95 tons. - Cleveland Herald
