The ferryboat ESSEX, which for many years did service between Detroit and Windsor, and lately between Port Huron and Sarnia, has been abandoned as too old for use. She is now lying below Sarnia.

      ESSEX, ferry built at Windsor, Ont., 1860 of about 94 tons. 81 x 19 x 8, was rebuilt at Windsor in 1874 with a new tonnage of 141. Burnt 1884.
