Messrs. Mason and Bidwell, the veteran Ship Builders are now putting the finishing touches on the new propeller, the "JAMES FISKE, Jr.," which vessel will be launched from the Mason & Bidwell shipyard, at the foot of Chicago Street, nearly opposite the Niagara Elevator, at 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The JAMES FISKE Jr. is built upon the model of the JAY GOULD, in the same line.
      The FISKE was built under the direction of S.D. Caldwell, Esq., General Manager of the Union Steamboat Company, and under the immediate supervision of Capt. M.M. Drake, superintendent of rrepairs, at a cost of about $85,000. The painting was done by Mr. Chas. Lamphear; the copper work by Bean, Felthousen & Co., and Brown & Cutcheon; the rigging was furnished by Newman, Vosburgh & Baker, and Messrs. Bemis & Son supplied the anchors.
      The officers of the JAMES FISKE, Jr. will be.
      Captain - James Moore.
      First Mate - John Hall.
      Second Mate - P. Chadwick.
      Engineer - Charles Holcomb.
      Second Engineer - P. O'Brien.

      LAUNCH OF THE JAMES FISKE, Jr. - About 500 people including a large number of ladies, assembled at Mason & Bidwell's shipyard on Saturday afternoon to witness the launch of the splendid new propeller JAMES FISK, Jr., which had been built for the Union Steamboat Company. At about 4 o'clock the vessel glided swiftly into the water's of Buffalo River. The JAMES FISKE, Jr., will at once take her place in the Union Steamboat line to ply between Chicago and Buffalo.
