At a Meeting of the Captains, sailing on Lake Erie, and the Upper Lakes, held pursuant to a call, the following appeared: W.T. Pease, L. Allen, A. Allen, M. Scoville, W. Norton, T. Wilkins, A. Squires, J. Ludlow, Ch. Ludlow, Ch. Burnett, E. W. Pratt, J. Oliver, P. T. Smith, -- Culver, J. Shooks, W. Dorrett, A. Todd, R. Hart, Sam'l Chase, R. Wagstaff, L.H. Cotton, C. C. Stanard, A. Gould, M. Edgecomb, -- Bennett, -- Chandler, W. Whitaker. On motion, Capt. S. Fox, was called to the chair, and Capt. E. Burke, and M. Dingley, were appointed Secretarys [sic]. The death of Capt. ALVIN PATTERSON, having been announced, by Capt. Shooks, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted: Resolved, That we sincerely and deeply lament the loss of our respected and valued brother mariner and friend, Capt. ALVIN PATTERSON, or the Schooner Prince Eugene, and that we, with his family and relatives, regret his loss, and as a testimonial of our respect for him,

Resolved, That we wear the usual Badge of Mourning, for thirty days.

DIED. On the 26th October last, Capt. ALVIN PATTERSON, of the schooner Prince Eugene, aged 25 years.
