The new schooner built by LaFrenere & Stevenson for Capt.Lovell of Boston, will be launched tomorrow. She is of superior model and superior build, being fastened with composition-spike and tree-nails. She embraces in her structure all the approved plans of lake craft, and will add considerable to LaFrenere & Stevenson's reputation--a reputation already wide extended, having reached Boston and other ports on the Atlantic coast. The superiority of lake vessels to those built on the sea coast is now so generally acknowledged, that orders will doubtless pour in upon our shipbuilders.

The new schooner" FOREST CITY," which was built here by LaFrinnier & Stevenso for parties in Massachusetts, is attracting considerable attention in Detroit, being now on her way to the Atlantic coast. The Tribune says:--
"This fine vessel, it is stated, cost only two thirds the price of a similar sized vessel built on the sea coast. Here in the west, where we have timber close at hand in endless profusion, there is nothing to prevent shipbuilding being carried on to a large extent for the Atlantic cities. Capt. Lovell informs us that the Boston owners, who attach much importance to looks, have had misgivings as to whether our Western builders could get up a really handsome vessel. Their apprehensions on this score are in a fair way to being relieved, and we shall not be surprised to see orders in due time pouring into the west for vessels, not only from New England, but from the Chesapeake, in which trade it is designed to run the FOREST CITY in winter. Her route in the summer being between Boston and Albany. This is a matter in which Detroit and our whole State has a great interest.
