The prop. FREE STATE is another of the fine new propellers of the Western Transportation Co. She arrived here yesterday from Buffalo, en route for Chicago. She was built in Buffalo, and reflects great credit upon her builders, Bidwell, Banta & Co. Her dimensions are as follows: Length of keel 136 ft; breadth of beam, 31'6"; depth of hold, 13'1"; and by Custom House measurement she is rated at 768, but will actually carry over 800 tons. Her officers are as follows: Capt. N.W. Napier; Mate, Porter Morgan; Engineer Palmer West.
