The old prop. GLOBE, which was burned and sunk in Saginaw Bay several years ago, has just been converted into a barge. After having lain several years under water, she was raised last fall, and towed to Saginaw, where she was converted into a barge last spring, under the supervision of the owners, Messrs. Campbell & Lane. She is now nearly ready for sevice. She measures as follows: 142 * 24 * 8. Her tonnage is 208, new measurement, and her capacity about 150,000 ft. of lumber. She will be commanded by Capt. C.H. Lane, one of her owners, and tow on Ballentine, Crawford & Co.'s line.
