West Bay City.---The new propeller GOGEBIC, built at Wheeler's shipyard, was launched at ? o,clock last Saturday afternoon. She is 285 feet over all, 273 feet keel, 39 feet beam, 21 feet hold. She has atriple expansion engine 20, 32, and 52 inches, with 40 inch stroke; Scotch boilers, 10 by 12 feet, from S.F.Hodge & Co.,Detroit. Her net tonnage is 1,312 tons; cost $125,000; owned by the Mills Transportation Co.,who place her in the Lake Superior trade. She will be ready for sea October 5. Captain Alvin Neal will command her.
