THE OLD STEAMER "ILLINOIS"----This old craft was hauled up to Oliver Newberry's dock yesterday, from below the railroad depot, where she has been reposing for couple of years past, unfit for service. Her engine is to be taken out for another boat to be built by her worthy owners. The ILLINOIS, in her day, was one of the most popular and successful boats that was ever launched in our water. ----- Detroit Adv.

The hull of the old steamer ILLINOIS, which has been lying, for some years past, a short distance below Detroit, was discovered to be on fire about 3 o'clock on Tuesday morning. The fire was extinguished in a short time after its discovery. It is supposed to have been set purposely.

THE OLD ILLINOIS.---The hull of the old steamer ILLINOIS is now being repaired at Stupinsky's shipyard, Detroit. Her present owner Capt. McAlpin, intends using her in the wood trade, and has it in serious contemplation, to put an engine in her next fall. She was built by the late Commodore Oliver Newberry, for the Detroit and Buffalo trade, at a cost of about $112,000, in 1837. Her engine was from the Altair Works, New York City and the engine of the steamer BUFFALO, built shortly afterwards, was exactly like it. The officers of the ILLINOIS were Com. Blake and Wm. Hinton, now pilot of the U. S. Steamer MICHIGAN, and Wm. Conley, first and second officers, her machinery was taken out and place in the new steamer ILLINOIS, now in the Lake Superior trade. Her furniture was also taken out, and part is still in use on the steamer MICHIGAN, also in the lake Superior Trade.
