Marine City, July 4 - The mammoth stm. V.H. KETCHAM arrived here safely this noon on her trial trip from Detroit. Her engines worked well and the general working of the ship gave complete satisfaction to her officers and those interested. She made a part of the distance over Lake St. Clair under canvas only, showing her sailing qualities to good advantage without the aid of steam. Capt. McNeil says she handles like a top and is perfectly manageable, so it can be safely announced that she is a grand success, even beyond the expectations of her most sanguine admirers.
