Full Text

A cleveland gentleman in this city yesterday reports the sale of the stm. KEWEENAW for about $14,000. She is now owned by the Cleveland and Saginaw Transportation Co., and is entirely free from all incumbrance. It is stated that after a few minor repairs she will go on the route in about a week. The Cleveland Herald says that she is put on the Saginaw line to run opposition to the METROPOLIS, but that can hardly be the case since there are already two boats of that line which could take care of her. Moreover it is rumored that the METROPOLIS is shortly to go on the route between Alpena and Saginaw. The Cleveland gentleman intimated that it was because another boat was needed by the Saginaw line that the KEWEENAW was purchased, and that is the more reasonable theory.
