Full Text

Marooned Thursday night (1/17) on the mainland by ice jams in the Niagara River at Grand River, high school students were able yesterday to return to their homes on the island when the ferry service was resumed despite continuance of the heavy ice floes.
(Two pictures with text show the tug WILLIAM D. KROPP breaking through the ice on a trip to Grand Island and the marooned students. Articles may be found in 1935 Newspaper Scrapbook.
There is also another article from the Buffalo Evening News in the same Scrapbook concerning the same incident.)
