The LOUISA is the name of a new bark launched this week at Detroit from the yard of Mr. Jones. Her dimensions are as follows: She is 126 ft. long over all, has 26 1/4 ft. beam and 8 1/2 ft depth of hold, giving her a carrying capacity of about 14,000 bu. or 230 tons. A new feature in her is that the lower planks of her centre board box are extended forward and aft about 16 ft., thus giving great strength to the hull in what is generally the weakest part.
