We yesterday crossed the river to Canada, and while over there paid a visit to the stm. MICHIGAN, latterly engaged in ferrying for the Grand Trunk Railroad, but at present chartered for towing on the river. On inspection we were quite surprised in finding on board this steamer such splendid machinery, in conjunction with a excellent hull and all the requisite accommodations of a first class steamer besides. We wish to place no discredit on any of our own river boats, but are compelled to state this steamer in all her interior and outer departments excels the generality of steamers afloat on the waters. Capt. Couzzens and Calwell are the leading individuals on board, both thoroughly versant in the business they have engaged in.
