Description
Full Text

Capt. Hazard's new steamer the MISSISSIPPI, made a trial trip yesterday afternoon. By invitation quite a party of ladies and gentlemen went out in her She proceeded to within four miles of Dunkirk, when she was then headed for this port and made the run of some 35 miles in one hour and forty-five minutes. This is excellent time on a trial trip. When her machinery works smooth she will be one of the fastest vessels on the lake. We understand that she will be ready to take her place in the line between this city and Sandusky early next week. Her mate the St. LAWRENCE, is also fast approaching completion.
