STEAM BOAT "WILLIAM PENN" -- The new steam boat WILLIAM PENN arrived in our harbor, on Wednesday last, in fine style. It was her first trip from a sister port and state, and we were pleased with the courtsey she received by a salute from the Terrace, and its return from on board. She is a vessel of beautiful model, and bears on her stern a bust of the enlightened "Friend" and Philanthropist after whom she was named, The founder of Pennsylvania. Her tonnage is 217 -- she has a powerful low pressure engine of about sixty horsepower and her speed will probably exceed any on the lake. She was built and principally owned at Erie, Penn. She is sailed by Captain J. F. Wright, whose long experience in sailing the lake, entitles him to the public confidence. We trust that the enterprising proprietors, (all citizens of the west) will merit and receive a full share of public patronage. ---- Buffalo Emporium, Aug. 19, 1826
