On Saturday afternoon, (today,) about four o'clock, Luther Moses will launch the fine propeller PITTSBURGH. At the same hour Messrs. Laffrenier & Stevenson will launch into the old river, two vessels, one of them a large barque of 500 tons, built by them for Mr. N.C. Winslow. Her dimensions are 155 feet keel, 32 feet beam, 11 feet hold, and she is to be commanded by Capt. Robert Anderson. The other is a fore-and-aft schooner, built for Messrs. Bacon & Redington. Her dimensions are 140 feet keel, 31 feet beam, and 10 feet hold, and her tonnage about 400 tons. She is built for the Lake Superior trade, and for freighting down iron and copper, and has had an unusual amount of money expended in giving extra strength by an extra bilge keelson, hanging knees at every beam, and extra bolts throughout. Her amount of sail is in proportion, her mainsail alone contains 700 yards of canvas. She is to be called the "C.E. ROBERTS," in honor of the General Agent of the Minnesota mine, and will be commanded by Capt. J.H. Andrews, formerly of the schooner SEAMAN. - Cleveland Plain Dealer

The new three-masted schooner, S.B. POMEROY, launched from the yard of Laffrinier & Stevenson, on Saturday, for N.C. Winslow, has today been measured. She is 150.9 feet in length, 33.34 feet beam, 11.57 feet hold, and 531 47-95 tons. She will be sailed by Capt. Robert Anderson, and will leave port on Wednesday next for Chicago. Like the other three masted schooners that have been built here this season, she is a staunch and noble vessel, but is not of so fine a finish as some. Strength, speed, and ease of management, have been strictly sought in her building and rigging. - Cleveland Herald, May 12.
