The schr. RAPID which was run down by collision with the schr. NARRAGANSETT not long since, and now lies sunk off the Clay Banks in Lake Erie, has, we learn, been purchased of the underwriters by Taylor & Jewett, of Buffalo, at what price we were not informed. The above firm have sent on a party of men who have already arrived in this city, and with tug, steam pumps and proper lighters intend to raise her immediately.
The body of the unfortunate Capt. Black, of the RAPID, has never been recovered.
