LAUNCH AT HURON. -- Another very fine vessel was launched at Huron, on Wednesday, the 23rd. inst., from the ship yard of S.L. Wilson, builder. She is to be called the REPUBLICAN, and from the description sent us of her dimensions and build, she will be when fully rigged and equipped, worthy of her name. Her owners are Messrs. Stevens & Ryan, J.T. Johnson, J.W. Sprague, and Capt. Stephen Coville. Her dimensions are as follows:-
Length on deck, 132 feet; 26 feet beam, and 11 feet hold. In her construction the greatest care has been taken to ensure strength, carrying capacity and speed. She is heavily fastened with extra bolts, and is said to be one of the best built vessels of her class on the lakes, having cost over two thousand dollars more than the usuas cost of vessels of her class. She is a decided credit to her builders and owners. - Sandusky Register
