The excursion of "D" COmpany tomorrow evening, from the arrangements made, promises to be one of the most enjoyable events of the season. The boat, the JOHN SHERMAN, leaves the foot of Main St. at 8:00 and returns at 12:00. The trip will be on the lake, and will furnish one of the best opportunities for witnessing the meteoric shower set down for that evening. The Union Cornet Band furnishes the instrumental music and a favorite quartete club is to put in an appearance. It is expected that arrangements will be made with the Street railroad Co. by which cars will be in residence on the return of the boat. The SHERMAN is a side-wheel steamer, with accommodations for 1,000 people. Maye, the confectioner is to provide refreshments.
