The new steamer JOHN SHERWIN for the Gilchrists was successfully launched at the Bay City shipyards in the presence of 2,000 people Saturday. The SWERWIN is 534 ft. over all, 54 ft. beam and 27 ft. deep. Capt. W.G. Srewart will sail her.
